The B.S. Marine Transportation Course covers a three-year academic stay at Mariners’ plus one-year training as apprentice on board ships.

The course includes lectures and trainings in internal combustion engines, steam engineering, marine refrigeration and electricity, and general education. Practical studies involve hands-on exercise in engine simulation, dockyard visitation, and shipboard familiarization.
The College has graduated outstanding licensed marine engineers from 4th Marine Engineers to Chief Marine Engineers who now man vessels worldwide.
The department’s laboratory houses varied equipment ranging from steam boilers, electrical switchboard, engine models and machine shop equipment such as lathe machines, shaper, and milling machine.
Training and instruction are focused on engine operation, repair and maintenance which are the primary function of the engineering department on-board ships.
4-Yr BS in Customs Administration (BSCA)
The course provides students with the initial trainings and theoretical education related to their licensure examination for customs brokers and practical application of the tariff and customs laws and all other laws that are being implemented by the various government agencies involved in the importation and exportation of goods. It includes the study of the different Trade Agreements such as the Common Effective Preferential Trading – ASEAN Free Trade Area (CEPT-AFTA), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the General Agreement on Tariff and Trade (GATT) of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
2-Yr Cruise Ship Management
1-Yr Steward Rating Certificate (SRC)
This short-term course prepares students in culinary arts, bartending, and food and preparation and beverage management on board. Students also study preventive maintenance and gain practical experience aboard ship in port and on the high seas.
Bridging Program
The bridging program implements CHED Memo Order No. 38, Series of 2005 pertaining to the prequalification of mechanical and electrical engineers as candidates to undergo the program who in turn would qualify them as apprentice marine engineers on board various vessels.
The bridging program is basically intended for either licensed mechanical/electrical engineers or mechanical/electrical engineering graduates with or without experience in land- or sea-based profession. They undergo a six-month BSME - BSMarE bridging course to qualify them as marine engineers aboard ocean- going ships.
The cadets must complete one semester (22 units) of academic study on subjects particularly seamanship, safety, engineering watch, naval architecture, marine pollution, maritime law, applied marine electricity, marine control system, marine power plant, marine engineering system and machine shop practices, including welding. The above subjects “bridge” the gap between BSME and BSMarE programs.
